Kathrin Schubert

A graduate of the University of Passau in Business, Foreign Languages and Cultures (languages studied: English, French, Italian) - Specializing in French culture and civilization, I worked for tourism and cultural institutions in Germany and France before becoming an international PR consultant for major business schools and American, British, French, and Swiss universities. Today, I work as a freelance translator and also offer German language and civilization courses.

As a native German speaker, but having lived in France for over 15 years, I am accustomed to 'navigating' between two languages and cultures. Aware of the communication barriers that can exist between French and Germans, I put my linguistic and cultural skills at the service of my clients to offer them clear and precise content.

I offer translations from French to German and from German to French. Upon request, I can also provide translations from English and Italian.

My preferred fields are tourism, art and culture, education and higher education, early childhood, press and public relations, decoration, fashion and cosmetics, as well as communication and marketing.

I translate documents as diverse as newsletters, press releases and kits, correspondence, brochures, product descriptions, guides, portfolios, websites, cultural programs, children's and young adult books, questionnaires, and satisfaction surveys. I also have some experience in translating pricing tools for medical, professional, sports, transport, and travel risks for the reinsurance sector.
