In my experience as the Head of Data Governance, all stages of data governance, including development and implementation, are carried out with great attention to detail. Nurturing data domains is the first task that I undertake, and this ensures that each addresses our operational concerns in a specific way. That is why I am in charge of data cataloging and data modeling, which makes the framework of data management and technologies significantly more coherent and effective.

Creating and carrying out policies and procedures to provide and maintain data of the right quality, confidentiality, and legal compliance is also part of my activities. In this regard, it includes a set of high data quality specifications and a data security policy that embodies both internal and external regulations respectively. I collaborate with IT and legal departments to make sure that our data governance policies support our business factors and remain responsive to changes in the regulatory framework.

Being the Head of Data Governance, I do not view data governance as only a reactive exercise. The entire organizational structure is sent out to embrace communication and trust in the present management of the company’s data. Thus, I can guarantee that our data governance projects are deployed in practice, suffusing the essence of the company’s day to day activities and its strategies in advancing our water and waste management services.

The primary objective of this project is twofold: firstly, to execute a comprehensive revamp of our company's Business Intelligence (BI) platform, and secondly, to establish a robust data governance framework that ensures data quality, security, and compliance.

As a Data Governance Manager specializing in data quality for sales and customer data worldwide, my role centered on ensuring the integrity and accuracy of critical data assets across a global enterprise. My primary focus was on the governance of sales and customer data objects, which are pivotal in driving strategic decisions and customer engagement initiatives.

In this capacity, I developed and implemented a comprehensive data quality framework tailored to our global sales and customer data. This framework included establishing data quality standards, metrics, and KPIs that aligned with our corporate objectives and customer satisfaction goals. I led a team dedicated to monitoring and continuously improving the quality of sales and customer data, ensuring it was accurate, complete, and timely.

A key aspect of my role involved collaborating with various business units and IT teams worldwide to identify and address data quality issues. This often meant navigating complex data landscapes and integrating diverse data sources to provide a unified view of our customers and sales operations. I spearheaded initiatives to cleanse and enrich data, leveraging advanced data quality tools and methodologies.

Additionally, I played a crucial role in fostering a culture of data quality awareness within the organization. I conducted training sessions and workshops to educate employees about the importance of data accuracy and the impact of high-quality data on business outcomes. Through these efforts, I ensured that data quality was not just a technical priority but a business imperative, recognized and upheld across all levels of the organization.
