Xavier Marchal

This job is part of the ANR MOSAICO project, which aims to develop new network functions at multiple levels for low-latency traffic processing. The main mission will be to ensure technical project management for the LORIA/CNRS partner, which includes in particular the development of new network functions, the creation of a representative dataset, and the integration of the various components produced at the project level into a final demonstrator.

- Technical lead for a PhD student.

- Characterization of cloud gaming traffic.

- Development of a cloud gaming client-server (similar to Parsec) designed for L4S networks.

- Development of a probe for cloud gaming traffic analysis.

(HSP visa with re-entry permit until mid-2024)

- Self-taught machine learning and technological watch on QA methods for neural networks

- Creation of a network for weld classification and study of operating limits

- Creation of scripts to parse datasets

- Testing of different models for detecting boats at sea

- Development of a backend for an AI-specific CI web service (+ management and administration of this part)

- Management of part of the infrastructure

My work is part of the DOCTOR ANR project: https://anr.fr/Projet-ANR-14-CE28-0001, http://www.doctor-project.org/. I collaborated with industrial and academic partners (Orange, Thalès, Montimage, UTT).

My work was mostly done alone with regular meetings with my co-supervisor.

- Performance study

- Development of an IP/NDN gateway for the HTTP protocol

- Development of a microservices-based architecture for NDN

Some work was done jointly with a PhD student from UTT.

- Study of content poisoning attacks

- Evaluation of the gateway

Two trips, to Japan and the United States respectively, were made to present two papers and two demonstrations at conferences (ACM ICN 16 and ACM ICN 18).
