Vincent Bordelais

I have been working in sound post-production (sound editing and mixing) for 25 years, mainly in documentaries (which is my preferred field). I have also worked in advertising, magazines, corporate films, and more recently on podcasts for Nouvelles Ecoutes.

Sound engineer by training, I have always been drawn to creation. It began with sound design for film or dance, then naturally these machines led me to music. In 2016, I met a composer freshly graduated from CNSMD de la Villette who had composed the music for the film I was working on. As the budget did not allow for conducting an orchestra, machines had to be used. We collaborated with great pleasure, and when the writing became difficult for me to play with virtual instruments (like Kontakt), he gave me the freedom to rearrange the pieces and explore new sounds. I have since developed this skill of musical arrangement, a creative space that fascinates me.

I also trained in coding for 2 years, which allows me to closely follow the developments of AI in the field of sound.
