I love stories. About people, their desires, passions, and dreams. It doesn't matter if they are well-invented in a feature film or from real life in a documentary.
Bringing stories to life with actors is a lot of fun for me. Helping actors get into the situation and into their character – embodying them in the best possible way.
Asking questions. Getting to the bottom of emotions and circumstances. For me, every person has a story to tell. I want to hear it.
I have worked in almost all film departments. In casting, as a producer/production manager, cinematographer, and lighting technician. I therefore know quite well how the different film departments work and what they need. I have a large network from which I can quickly activate specialists for all sorts of film tasks.
My Career Path
In 2010, I completed my studies in time-based media at the Mainz University of Applied Sciences with a focus on directing, screenwriting, and cinematography. Since then, I have been working as a writer, director, and cinematographer on numerous documentaries, explainer videos, commercials, and image films, including for the ARD & ZDF youth channel FUNK, ZDFinfo, Foodwatch, and Amnesty International.
In 2015, I deepened my dramaturgical knowledge with additional training as a screenwriter at the Skript Akademie Berlin, where I have also been working as a lecturer since then. In 2017, I participated in three acting coaching workshops at the Berlin Acting Studios. I stood on stage and in front of the camera myself, experiencing firsthand again after a long time what it feels like. At the same time, I understood much better what an actor needs from a director.
