Tristan Garnier

Having been passionate about comics all my life, I waited until I had my baccalaureate to get my characters out of the margin of my notebooks. I started with a first year of art preparation at EPSAA, (École Publique Supérieure des Arts Appliqués) then a second at the Atelier de Sèvres, in Paris. These two years allowed me to pass the ESAL competition in Épinal, a superb illustration school where I spent three wonderful years. I obtained my national art diploma "Image Narrative" in 2019, but above all I was able to develop my universe and assert my style.

I am particularly fond of dry techniques, such as pencil, colored pencil or charcoal. These simple tools give me a lot of freedom and also allow me to work on large formats (posters, frescoes). I like to combine my artistic work with digital technology to be able to add color, but above all to do animation. I find close links between comics and moving images, both in framing and in rhythm. I draw on these two practices to nourish my creation.

My background has therefore allowed me to master many software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effect, Indesign, Animate...
