    Design and printing of laboratory sample holders
    CHEMICAL
    July 2025 - November 2025 (4 months)
    Étampes, France
    As part of a mission for a laboratory, I was responsible for the design, prototyping, and FDM 3D printing of holders for storing and handling samples. The objective was to provide a tailor-made, robust, ergonomic solution perfectly adapted to the client's requirements.

    I carried out all the CAD modeling in SolidWorks, including 3D design, geometry optimization, dimension validation, and file preparation for printing. Several prototypes were produced to test stability, grip, compatibility with existing equipment, and resistance to daily use.

    For the production phase, I used FDM 3D printing with PETG, a material chosen for its strength, impact resistance, durability, and good performance in demanding work environments. Printing parameters were adjusted to ensure excellent surface quality, reliable dimensional accuracy, and optimal robustness.
    A total of 64 custom holders were manufactured, inspected, and delivered to the client.

    This mission allowed the laboratory to:
    improve sample organization and storage;
    have tailor-made, robust, and perfectly adapted holders;
    acquire a technical solution not available commercially.

    This project highlights my skills in SolidWorks CAD, mechanical design, FDM 3D printing, PETG materials, rapid prototyping, additive manufacturing, and technical small-batch production.
