Thomas R. Vogel

I am an executive advisor, interim manager, and leader with over 30 years of experience in IT, organization, and digital transformation. I support companies in remaining operational in complex, critical, or unstable situations, making viable decisions, and positioning their organizations for the future, both technologically and structurally.

My focus is on modernizing IT organizations, establishing clear governance and operating models, and stabilizing and developing existing, often heterogeneous, system landscapes. I guide transformation and change processes where strategic visions need to be translated into robust operational realities – especially at the interfaces between management, business departments, and IT.

I work analytically, structurally, and pragmatically. My approach is to make complexity understandable, provide orientation, and build structures that function reliably – technologically, organizationally, and humanly. In doing so, I specifically support companies in strengthening their digital sovereignty, security, and operational readiness in an increasingly regulated and technology-driven environment.

As an author and speaker, I focus intensively on digital sovereignty, technical resilience, cybersecurity, modern leadership, and the interplay of people, processes, and technology. In my work as a coach, I am results-oriented and clear – without psychologizing approaches, with a focus on responsibility, decision-making ability, and implementation.

Privately, endurance, focus, and perception are also central: long-distance hiking – especially on the Camino – cycling, running, and photography shape my view of structures, details, and dynamics. This attitude is directly reflected in my professional work.
