About Thibault

My name is Thibault Moneuse, I have been a software engineer since 2010 and self-employed as an independent since May 2019.

I am curious, self-taught, I have fairly varied knowledge of technologies and IT in general, I really enjoy discovering and understanding new things, especially the most unusual ones.

I like finding solutions to problems, I have a way of thinking that pushes me to think outside the box, to lay things out and to take a step back to always try to improve and optimize things, in my personal or professional life.

In my personal time I enjoy tinkering and trying out technologies, such as:

  • Setting up a PfSense firewall: blocking tracking, ads, setting up VLANs
  • Installing an Unraid server: deploying VMs and Docker containers, backing up my machines, storing movies/series, monitoring with Telegraf and Grafana
  • Setting up a home automation system: monitoring temperatures, consumption, automating shutters, alarm, etc...
  • Building a "magic mirror" based on a Raspberry Pi: displaying various information (RSS feeds, traffic, music, home automation data)
  • 3D printing, laser cutting, and various fabrications

I am able to adapt quickly to an environment and integrate easily into teams, I have good interpersonal skills and am pedagogical, which allows me to be quickly operational.

    Data Project Manager

    August 2022 - Today (3 years and 10 months)
    Villeneuve-d'Ascq, France
    New organization at Mondial Relay

Following the acquisition of Mondial Relay by the Inpost group and the appointment of a new director within the Data team a few weeks before my arrival, the mission context was one of change and the implementation of projects to meet new needs and the expansion of the team.

    Achievements

My main role was to be the interface between the business teams of Mondial Relay and the development team. I took into account their requests, translated them into specifications, and wrote a roadmap in collaboration with the director of the Data team.
I also participated significantly in team animation and process implementation, notably through the use of Klaxoon for daily task tracking, the creation of a template for business requests, documentation and versioning processes, and other initiatives for continuous improvement of activities.
Following the implementation of a private Azure OpenAI instance with ChatGPT, I was able to work on the subject autonomously to see how certain AIs could be integrated into our work environment.
I was able to work on creating prompts specific to our needs. I developed a POC of a chatbot using internal documentation as data sources, with the aim of answering the most common questions we received from other departments.
I experimented with fine-tuning a GPT3 model (curie) to create a POC application for semi-automatically categorizing tickets, with relative success given the short development time I could dedicate to it.
I took the opportunity to train team members on these topics, to break down preconceived notions and present the strengths and weaknesses of this type of technology.

    Summary

A very interesting mission, both technically and humanly, involving the management of a heterogeneous team in terms of profiles, varied requests across very different business areas of Mondial Relay, and the introduction of new AI technologies, which are very promising but still poorly understood and mastered by the general public.

    Return to the decision-making service

Return to Orexad to help the team with new projects and some technological and human changes within the company.
    Achievements

My role was to strengthen the team, take back some of my responsibilities, take on new ones, and use my knowledge and experience in IT systems to manage new projects autonomously, including the redesign of non-compliance management, data export to third-party applications (Rubixgo, Enable, Avanteam), spoilage management, etc..

    Summary

Return to a familiar yet new environment, technical environment migrations, changes in ways of working. It was not just a continuation of my previous mission but an opportunity to go further.

This experience allowed me to manage subjects more autonomously and spend more time with the people requesting changes, to understand their problems and try to solve them with the data available.

    PER Simulator Project

Following the PACTE law, AG2R wanted to evolve its sales support application to continue selling retirement savings products. This project began at the end of 2020 and provided an opportunity to transition from a Waterfall process to an Agile process.
Following difficulties encountered at the beginning of the project, I was hired as reinforcement to support the teams and meet the production launch date scheduled for July.

    RIS Project

In parallel, a project to read RIS PDFs was launched. (Individual situation statement, it's a document summarizing the career to best calculate retirement rights).
This project aims to automatically import into the application the information necessary for the advisor to offer a contract adapted to the client (number of quarters, number of points contributed, etc.).

    Achievements

My role on the PER Simulator project was to support the developers daily, serve as a bridge and buffer with the business teams.
My arrival allowed us to take time to review the previous sprints. I analyzed the functional scope and technical architecture of the application to organize regular workshops with the team to provide concrete context for this project.
Throughout the development progress, I was responsible for code quality, adherence to processes and work conventions, analyzing more complex topics, and serving as a technical referent for the teams.

As part of the RIS project, I attended scoping meetings, carried out estimates, and shared my analysis on the project's feasibility and potential risks.

    Summary

The context of this mission did not allow me to fully achieve the ambitions and objectives I had set for myself.
Nevertheless, it allowed me to learn a lot about daily management, managing well-being and motivation, and communication between different teams, despite the difficulties brought about notably by isolation due to Covid-19, the urgency of deadlines, and the ambition of process transformation desired by the client.
