About Mohamed Ali

Energy engineer (With a Master's degree in modeling and simulation in fluid mechanics & thermal transfer), I have 11 years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, and thermal engineering, from diagnosis to acceptance of works. My background combines design office, execution, maintenance, and MEP coordination, offering complete mastery of the project cycle and technical systems.

After an initial experience in HVAC/plumbing project management (design plans, team supervision, client/designer coordination, complex site management), I moved into a role as a project manager for tertiary renovations. I managed large-scale projects there: France Télévisions, Galeries Lafayette, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Champs-Élysées… including global audits, sizing, tender documents, bid analysis, and technical monitoring until commissioning.

I then consolidated my expertise in new construction projects within a multidisciplinary design office, specializing in RE2020 thermal studies (Pléiades), BIM design on Revit MEP, energy optimization, inter-trade coordination, and writing technical specifications/quantification documents.

Today, as the founder of AVA Fluides, I am involved in:
• HVAC/Plumbing studies (Conceptual Design → Detailed Design)
• Energy audits, diagnostics, and master plans
• Sizing, thermal balances, RE2020/Existing RT, LCA
• BIM Revit MEP plans, schematics, and models
• Written documents (Technical Specifications, Bills of Quantities), bid analysis, technical review
• Site supervision, inter-trade coordination, client/designer assistance

My dual background in design and site work guarantees feasible, balanced, maintainable, and economically optimized designs. Objective: to deliver reliable, high-performance, and sustainable installations, adapted to current technical constraints and energy challenges.

🏗️ AVA Fluides is an independent engineering design office specializing in HVAC, plumbing, and thermal engineering, dedicated to the performance, comfort, and energy efficiency of buildings.

Based in the Île-de-France region, we support clients, architects, and contractors on tertiary, residential, and industrial projects, both in renovation and new construction.

    ⚙️ What we do

    🔹 Audits & feasibility studies
We analyze existing installations to understand their actual operation, identify anomalies, and propose technical and financial recommendations.
Each audit is based on a fluid systems master plan, updated plans, and schematics, serving as true management tools throughout the building's lifecycle.

    🔹 Design & sizing
From conceptual design to detailed design, we perform thermal balances, hydraulic and aerodynamic sizing, technical specifications, tender documents, and technical plans, integrating efficiency, comfort, maintainability, and measurable performance.
Our approach favors optimized, realistic, and sustainable solutions, adapted to each building type.

    🔹 Calculations & regulatory compliance
Thermal regulations studies (RE2020, RT2012, Existing RT), smoke extraction calculations, hygrothermal comfort, and safety compliance.

    🔹 Monitoring & technical assistance
Bid analysis (ACT), technical review of plans, inter-trade coordination, site supervision (DET), and acceptance to ensure reliable, balanced, and compliant installations.

    🔹 Environmental assessment (LCA)
Integration of the life cycle and reduction of the carbon footprint of technical systems.

    🌱 Our approach

Combining technical rigor, listening, and sustainability to design efficient, innovative, and long-lasting solutions.
We collaborate closely with architects, cost estimators, clients, and other design offices (structural, electrical) to deliver coherent, high-performance, and sustainable projects.
Our mission: healthier, more efficient, and more responsible buildings.

  • Bureau d'études EIXA
HVAC – Plumbing – Thermal Engineer
    CIVIL ENGINEERING
    May 2022 - May 2025 (3 years)
    Paris, France
At EIXA, a multidisciplinary technical design office, I held the position of HVAC-plumbing-thermal engineer specializing in new collective residential projects and individual houses, within the RE2020 framework. I was involved from the initial design phases, assisting clients and architects in the pre-sizing of technical shafts, anticipating spatial constraints, and supporting decisions on energy solutions.

I carried out regulatory thermal studies using Pléiades, performed thermal calculations, produced RE2020 reports, while participating in choices regarding building envelope and systems. In the tender document phase, I designed HVAC and plumbing systems using Revit MEP, in close coordination with other trades (structural, electrical, site development, etc.), ensuring inter-disciplinary compatibility from the model stage.

My role also included writing technical specifications and bills of quantities, conducting complete technical and financial analyses of bids, reviewing execution plans, and liaising with manufacturers to propose equipment best suited to thermal objectives, installation constraints, and economic optimization.

Working within a multidisciplinary design office allowed me to interact directly with the client representation, execution, and construction economics departments, drawing on site feedback to adjust designs. This integrated structure gave me a transversal view of the project chain, from initial feasibility to site completion.

I also managed some tertiary and residential renovation projects, but the majority of projects concerned new construction, in demanding technical contexts and dense urban areas.

This experience, focused on new construction and directly aligned with my objectives, provided me with complete mastery of energy design with solid and operational expertise across the entire building design cycle.
