Sylvain Petit

After obtaining a DEUG in English and a first job in a press agency in Paris, I have accumulated nearly twenty years of experience in the English language in various sectors, whether journalistic or commercial, notably in writing, translating and proofreading press articles. I am currently a press correspondent for L'Hebdo de Sèvre & Maine (44) and, still, for La Gazette du Val-d'Oise (95), working remotely.

I wish to take advantage of my move to the Nantes region to retrain as a translator. A return to my roots, in a way, since I had studied English at university before trying my luck in journalism. During my jobs since then, I have always had to translate from English to French, during telephone or email exchanges, or when producing articles, particularly for cinema and TV series magazines. On a personal level, I only watch films and series in their Original Version.

I wish to continue my work as a press correspondent and expand it with English-French translation assignments, writing, proofreading/editing, whether for an agency or freelance, full-time or part-time, in a company or remotely...
