About Stephane

I am a model-based software engineer, a graduate of an engineering school with a specialization in control law development. Throughout my various experiences, I have developed strong skills in software design using MATLAB SIMULINK and in writing requirements using DOORS, particularly during my assignment at VALEO, which involved developing the application software for an eDrive INVERTER. I also had a mission at TELMA for the development of control software for an electromagnetic braking system coupled with an electric motor for regenerative braking. I am currently seeking a mission as a model-based design software developer, ideally in the automotive sector (however, I remain open to other sectors).

Experience

  • TELMA
    Electronics Engineer
    September 2024 - June 2025 (9 months)
    Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône, France
I worked on one of Telma's projects: HIB (Hybrid Induction Brake), which is an electromagnetic braking product mounted on commercial vehicles, to which a means of recovering electrical energy during braking phases was added. My mission consisted of:
    - Assisting the project team on software development aspects
    - Writing system and subsystem requirements
    - Translating these requirements into software specifications
    - Realizing the software architecture
    - Developing embedded software in the Matlab/Simulink environment
    - Proposing areas for improvement in system control
    - Generating code
    - Ensuring configuration management of the developed software.
    - Assisting in the analysis of software and system validation test results.
    - Ensuring reporting of activity progress to the project manager.
Embedded software development Matlab/Simulink Control command CANoe Test and validation
  • Valeo
    Control Law Engineer
    AUTOMOBILE
    October 2021 - October 2024 (3 years)
    Amiens, France
    Control Law Engineer:
    - Within the Valeo group, I am working on an electric traction chain project for hybrid vehicles. The main project phases are:
    - Physical modeling of the entire traction chain (from the Inverter and electric machine to the wheels and vehicle load, including the gearbox and clutch)
    - Design of the inverter's application software based on customer requirements:
    - Analysis of customer requirements and rewriting them into simplified requirements under DOORS
    - Development of models under Matlab/Simulink that meet customer requirements
    - Verification that Matlab/Simulink models meet customer requirements through smoke tests
    - Assistance to teams performing code generation and MIL/SIL tests
  • E2-CAD
    Systems Engineer
    July 2019 - August 2021 (2 years and 1 month)
    Ile-of-France, France
From March 2020 to August 2020: Embedded Software Development Engineer
Context: E2-cad works with Nidec PSA e-Motors to carry out part of the design process for an INVERTER for electric vehicle motors (DC to AC converter). E2-cad develops the electronic boards, the base layers of the application part, and finally participates in the code generation process for the INVERTER's control laws and conducts tests.
    Actions:
    - Participation in meetings with Nidec PSA emotors to gather requirements
    - Optimization of Simulink models for control laws (optimization aimed at reducing CPU load)
    - Generation of C code from Simulink models
    - Integration of the generated code onto electronic boards and execution of tests.
    Technical Environment:
    - Matlab/Simulink Git/SourceTree Targetlink
From October 2019 to March 2020, Electric Vehicle Battery Safety Management Engineer
Context: E2-cad is developing an application for PSA that will manage the safety of electric vehicle batteries. The application must be able to detect a battery malfunction that could lead to vehicle failure and react in time to isolate the battery from the vehicle.
    Actions:
    - Participation in meetings with PSA to gather requirements
    - Design of Simulink models that comply with PSA's specified requirements
    - Development of test scenarios for the various models
    - Cross-functional activity: improvement of software to implement the application while respecting Model-Based Design rules.
Results: A first version of the application was validated on a test bench.
    Technical Environment:
    - Matlab/Simulink Targetlink Git/SourceTree
