Stephane Bourque

Teacher-researcher at UMR Agroecology in Dijon since 2001 (UMR INRAe, InstitutAgro Dijon and University of Burgundy), I am a protein biochemist and molecular biologist by training, specializing in the study of plant immune response mechanisms.

After more than 15 years of fundamental research focused on identifying nuclear proteins involved in the control and regulation of plant immune responses, I have spent the last 5 years using this accumulated data to develop an innovative biocontrol approach based on the disinhibition of these responses coupled with their activation. All of this is being tested for its effectiveness on grapevines. A patent for this technique is currently being filed. All of my research work has allowed me to acquire solid knowledge in plant physiology and biology, and more generally in plant and microbial biotechnology.

My teaching activities at the University Institute of Vine and Wine in Dijon provide me with a good understanding of the current issues in the wine industry.

For the past 3 years, I have been providing expertise for BPIFrance and ADEME on various R&D projects within the framework of different calls for projects (France 2030).
