After obtaining my doctorate in France in an INRA laboratory (Nantes), I chose to continue my training in the United Kingdom, starting with a post-doctorate in molecular biology (AFRC, Rothamsted Experimental Station), followed by research positions at RHM Research (High-Wycombe), Leatherhead Food RA (Leatherhead), and then at the University of Reading (Food Science Dpt). This background has enabled me to be qualified both scientifically and linguistically to consider a career as a scientific translator, which I became in 2001.
