About Sophie

Welcome to my page!

I'm Sophie Janinet, always on the move, I have trouble staying still. A freelance journalist by training, bilingual (French - English), a long-time feminist (including 5 years alongside Georgettes Sand) and an expert in Anglo-Saxon culture:

I teach the evolution of the Anglo-Saxon media landscape (ESJ Lille) and I also speak on the subject of Woke Culture (ISCOM Paris). Since 2007, I have been writing and producing content for various media. I notably created the podcast L.A. Portraits about the city of Los Angeles and co-wrote the book Ni Vues Ni Connues, published on October 5, 2017.

Knowing how to communicate (in the broadest sense) is the skill I never tire of learning, practicing, and transmitting: knowing how to inform oneself, understand oneself, build bridges between generations, cultures, and ideals. Whether in writing or speaking, in English or French, in public or in private.

I like to step out of my comfort zone to meet others: to understand our world and its codes in order to exchange better. My leitmotif: make empathy a strength and humor a reflex. My good humor is contagious and I would like to share it with you, as well as all the knowledge I have accumulated over more than ten years.

🇺🇸

A globetrotter who’s also a freelance journalist and communications consultant.

I truly believe that open and honest communication is the key to unlocking the potential of human beings and creating a more harmonious world. Well, that’s why I do what I do, starting from the media and the workplace.

I’m a romantic for the radio, a proud feminist, a life-long anglophile, and a visiting lecturer at ESJ Lille. And guess what? I created and hosted the podcast L.A. Portraits, and I co-wrote the book Ni vues ni connues, published in October 2017.
