Simon Lerat

Professional photographer based in Paris, I trained in photography after an initial career in the world of cooking and Parisian grand hotels. It was through this experience that I decided to dedicate myself fully to my true passion: photography.

Graduated from EFET, I deepened my skills by working for two years at the Négatif Plus laboratory, an immersion that allowed me to specialize in analog photography, a field I am particularly fond of.

Today a freelancer, my work leads me to collaborate regularly with renowned cultural institutions such as the Fondation Cartier, the Grand Palais, the Musée du Luxembourg, and the MAHJ. My projects include shooting exhibitions, reporting on cultural and institutional events, with a preference for large-format digital photography.

President and co-founder of Collectif 8 Clos, a space dedicated to photographic creation, I develop a photo development laboratory and a studio there, where I also practice portrait photography. Passionate about transmission, I also lead photography courses there to share my experience and artistic vision.

Through my work, I highlight my professionalism, my technical rigor, and my artistic sensitivity, with particular attention to the world of culture, where I find a constant source of inspiration.
