Sasja Houba

Since the third year of my study, I have been working as a part-time freelance graphic designer. I enjoy collaborating closely with clients to understand their wishes and goals and translate them into a well-thought-out design.

My expertise lies in print, with a special focus on book design — from concept development to print-ready files. I also work extensively for clients in the art and culture sector, such as museums, exhibitions, clubs, restaurants, and other creative environments.

Although my heart lies with cultural projects, I am open to diverse assignments. Every project offers new opportunities to bring visual ideas to life.

I had the pleasure of assisting ceramic artist Anemoon On Fire with the production of her ceramic works and supporting her during the preparations for the exhibition “Oracles from Far and Near” at the Princessehof Ceramics Museum in Leeuwarden.

For my third-year internship, I assisted ‘Pleasant Place’ — “a growing collection of publications on the art of gardening.” During my internship, I contributed to the fifth and sixth issues, focusing on 'Mien Ruys' and 'Topiary'.

I started with design tasks, including a binder to bundle the editions, and gradually became more involved in content production. For example, I wrote and compiled an article on topiary in art history and designed illustrations for various articles.
