Sascha Tapken

With Hanseatic roots: I was born in Hamburg in 1979. I studied American Studies, Spanish, and Politics at the University of Hamburg and the University of Texas in Austin, graduating with a Magister degree. This was followed by a twelve-year career at the Ferdinand Holzmann Verlag, a highly renowned publisher in the industry, where I held positions from trainee and editor to managing editor, and since January 2018, editor-in-chief of the B2B magazines "möbel kultur" and "derküchenprofi". During this time, I learned the craft of trade journalism from scratch and acquired extensive industry knowledge. Since April 2021, I have been self-employed with Home.Made.Storys.

I am a passionate media professional – perhaps it's my origins, as the influence of major media houses is always present in Hamburg. During my tenure as editor-in-chief, I advanced the digital channels alongside the print magazines with high-quality content. Whether it's websites, newsletters, or social media – expanding reach and experimenting with new channels are my driving forces. Networking on-site was also high on the agenda – with a diverse range of events, from e-commerce excursions through Berlin to industry conferences at the Millerntor Stadium.

I am available for live moderation, expert opinions, keynote speeches, content production, and consulting for industry and trade. I look forward to contributing my ideas, knowledge, and network where they can be helpful. The Home & Living industry is a wonderful sector where I am, in the truest sense of the word, at home.
