The JUICE mission involves sending an orbiter into Jupiter's system to conduct multiple observations of its icy Galilean moons, particularly Ganymede, around which it will orbit. Its main scientific objectives concern Jupiter's moons, atmosphere, and magnetosphere. The MAJIS instrument for JUICE is an imaging spectrometer that scans the VIS-IR spectral range from 0.4 < WL(µm) < 5.7. The instrument consists of 3 distinct subsystems: the Optical Head (OH), the Proximity Electronics (PE), and the Main Electronics (ME) which links to the S/C. It uses two distinct dispersive channels that project onto two distinct focal planes (FPA). A VIS-NIR FPA for the spectral range 0.4 < WL(µm) < 1.9 and an IR FPA for the spectral range 1.5 < WL(µm) < 5.2 (5.7). The detector of the VIS-NIR FPA operates around 140K, while the IR FPA detector needs to operate around 90K. This cooling is ensured (baseline) by a passive device (radiators towards cold space).
