About Ruben

My academic background lies at the interface between solid-state physics and materials chemistry. During my time at IMPMC (Sorbonne University), I conducted research on graphite intercalation compounds, using high-pressure and high-temperature synthesis techniques with Paris-Edinburgh and multi-anvil presses, coupled with X-ray diffraction analysis.

During my PhD, I studied the structural and transport properties of oxygen-enriched layered oxides, employing synchrotron and neutron diffraction techniques, including single-crystal analysis, to elucidate complex structural and magnetic transitions.

In my postdoctoral work, my research focused on $\alpha$-GeO₂-based surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensors designed for high-temperature environments. I combined in situ neutron diffraction experiments with scanning electron microscopy (SEM), AFM, EDX spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction techniques.

These projects have allowed me to develop in-depth expertise in advanced diffraction techniques, data processing and analysis (particularly using Python), and the characterization of materials under extreme conditions. I have also collaborated closely with several major research infrastructures (ILL, ESRF, PSI), and actively contributed to the scientific dissemination of my work through oral presentations and participation in specialized conferences.
