My doctoral thesis extends my previous work on monitoring and collecting data on marine species in their natural environment. It focused on the study of animal behavior through an "optimization modeling" approach, particularly metaheuristics. This research overcame the limitations of existing behavioral models, making them interpretable, explainable, and accessible to biologists, who are often non-computer scientists. The final tool developed, named ANIMETA, includes several components:
