Rocio Suanzes

I am an independent consultant specializing in public innovation, GovTech, and the design of collaborative ecosystems between startups, public institutions, and large organizations. I work on projects, supporting teams that want to innovate with purpose, incorporating impact, accessibility, and diversity criteria from the outset.

Over the past few years, I have designed, directed, and executed open innovation programs and pilots focused on tech startups. Between 2021 and 2025, I led Govtech LATAM, an initiative funded by IDB Lab and executed with IE University to connect technological solutions with 10 Latin American governments. The program resulted in 8 cities contracting pilots with startups and mapped over 1,000 govtech solutions.

In parallel, since 2024, I have led the entrepreneurship and open innovation area at ONCE Innova, where I bring startups and emerging solutions closer to the visual impairment sector, raising awareness among internal teams about inclusive innovation and universal design.

Previously, I launched GovtechLabMadrid, the first GovTech lab in Ibero-America recognized by the OECD as a benchmark case, promoting pilots with 24 municipalities and connecting public needs with local and international startups.

I have also collaborated with organizations such as Transcendent, Fundación EXIT, and Spain Nab, designing and supporting strategies, alliances, and programs focused on social impact, accessibility, and responsible innovation.

I began my career in financial auditing at EY and later founded Invisible Talent, an initiative to promote organizational diversity. That experience marked a turning point: I decided to dedicate myself to projects aligned with values, purpose, and systemic impact.

I am passionate about creating spaces where innovation translates into real changes: pilots, collaboration frameworks, processes, products, and learning.

I work best when there is vision, ambition, and a complex challenge to solve.
