About Robin

The number of marketing software is exploding đź’Ą

In April 2020, there were over 8,000 marketing software, four times more than in 2015. Finding your way in this ocean of tools is not easy, but for companies that know how to combine these solutions, the possibilities are endless and the growth potential is enormous. A major challenge then.

This explosion in the number of marketing tools on the market has led to the emergence of a profession: that of the technical marketer. A non-French term to describe a person at the intersection of marketing and IT. An expert in systems and data who enables companies to better use technology to improve the effectiveness of their marketing and sales actions.

This profession, which does not exist in the dictionary, is mine 🙋🏻‍♂️

_____________

My name is Robin Laverdet and I am the guy who eats API docs for breakfast, who enjoys creating complex automated sequences in marketing automation platforms, and who enjoys discussing with a marketing strategist as much as with a developer.

👉 Every day, I help startups and agencies get the most out of marketing software and data, and I love it!

Specifically, I can help you to:
→ Enhance your marketing strategy (inbound, nurturing, relationship building...) by integrating all that technology can offer and by maximizing existing customer data.
→ Optimize your marketing stack: clean, connect, automate, implement, recommend...
→ Make the right choice for your next solution: needs analysis, software evaluation, and decision support.
→ Outsource the management of your marketing tools and email campaigns.

Experience

  • Adviso Conseil Inc.
    Marketing Automation Specialist
    DIGITAL AND IT
    December 2016 - October 2018 (1 year and 11 months)
    Montréal, Canada
After more than a year and a half in the project management team, I am transitioning to the customer experience team: an opportunity to move from a generalist marketer to a specialized marketer, and to acquire in-depth knowledge in an area that particularly interested me: marketing technologies.

I dive headfirst into marketing automation and everything related to this buzzword: choosing platforms and designing marketing "stacks", implementing and integrating the various tools in the stack, cleaning data to enable automations, etc. But also more strategic aspects, with the definition of complete CRM strategies (including client research, personas, and customer journeys). Then operational aspects with the management of email marketing campaigns.

In total, I was involved in about thirty projects for medium-sized companies and for (somewhat) better-known organizations: Banque Nationale, Yokohama, Transcontinental, Boréale, La Cordée, the Montreal Impact, the 24h de Tremblant, and the Montréal Complètement Cirque festival.

This is clearly the most formative experience I have had to date, alongside true marketing geeks and a particularly inspiring mentor. I cannot list here everything I learned during this experience, but if I had to choose one thing, it would be passion. Before Adviso, marketing was a field I fell into somewhat by chance after high school; after Adviso, I could talk about it for an entire evening without stopping, simply because I understood that you can do good marketing to help people. And that makes a huge difference in how you approach your job.

  • Adviso Conseil Inc.
    Web Project Manager
    DIGITAL AND IT
    March 2015 - November 2016 (1 year and 9 months)
    Montréal, Canada
I started at Adviso a month after arriving in Montreal, and I stayed there for three and a half years, until two weeks before my return to France. Loyalty, when it holds you.
During the first half of this experience, I was a coordinator and then a project manager in this leading digital marketing agency in Quebec. I managed over a hundred projects for about fifty clients, including essential Quebec companies (IGA, Uniprix, Camso, Juste pour Rire, Structube, Radio-Canada, Soprema, Aubainerie, La Parisienne), and ensured that our sixty or so specialists were all playing the same tune.

While the beginnings were difficult because the learning curve was steep compared to what I was doing before, the learnings were enormous, especially from a strategic point of view. At the end of this experience, I had a much better understanding of the relationships between different components of digital marketing, and how they could be combined to achieve the same objective.

  • Le gars du coin
    Webmaster of the Internet
    DIGITAL AND IT
    September 2012 - December 2014 (2 years and 4 months)
    Toulouse, France
After my master's degree in marketing at IAE Toulouse, which concluded with a 6-month internship at the startup MyFeelBack, I followed my entrepreneurial instincts and plunged into freelancing. I deepened my knowledge of SEO and SEM, and above all, I learned to build websites using Wordpress. This was my main activity for over 2 years. I stopped this activity in December 2014 to go live a new adventure in Quebec, after having built about thirty small showcase or e-commerce sites. I also had the opportunity to collaborate with several renowned agencies on the construction of larger-scale sites, and to manage all the marketing for a dating site. A very formative experience, both in terms of creating and developing a business and in terms of digital marketing skills.
