In my role as a mentor at CareerFoundry, I personally supported students on their journey into the tech industry (such as UX/UI Design or Web Development) and helped them make the leap into a new career.

My focus and responsibilities:

Individual support & feedback: I was the direct point of contact for my mentees. I closely monitored their learning process and regularly provided detailed feedback on their assignments and projects. Communication was always on an equal footing – sometimes in personal video calls, sometimes via chat or through individual video reviews.

Practical support: Theory is good, practice is better. I helped students implement realistic projects that mirrored their future professional lives one-to-one. I placed a special emphasis on refining their portfolios so they could present themselves confidently in the job market.

Motivation & career advice: Beyond technical expertise, I saw myself primarily as a motivator. When challenges seemed large, I met my mentees where they were, resolved blockages, and encouraged them to consistently pursue their long-term career goals.

Flexible & asynchronous support: Thanks to the online format, I could provide support flexibly and asynchronously. This allowed me to guide students individually at their own learning pace and provide support precisely when they needed the next impulse.
