Ramzi Jelalia

Ramzi Jelalia, 54 years old, holds a Master's degree in Public Law. He began his professional career as a corporate lawyer at the Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas (Tunisia). During this initial experience, he participated in the implementation of the country's first independent power production (IPP) project under the Rades II concession regime. After about ten years (2004), he left STEG to join a renowned law firm in Tunis (Ferchiou & Associés) as Head of the Corporate Department, responsible for assisting in company formation. During this period, he participated in several infrastructure projects in Tunisia and Sub-Saharan Africa. In Tunisia, as a legal advisor, he participated in several infrastructure project studies and/or studies related to the implementation of institutional reforms, mainly for the electricity and renewable energy sectors. In Sub-Saharan African countries, he participated in Benin in the implementation of the water sector reform, in Burkina Faso in the drafting of contractual instruments (PPAs) to encourage private sector investment in renewable energy, in Senegal he participated in the Feasibility Study for the valorization of household waste for biofuel production, in Niger he led training sessions for NIGELEC executives on concession techniques, and in Guinea he participated in the implementation of the new electricity code and its implementing texts. Currently, Ramzi Jelalia is based in Brussels as a legal consultant, providing his services to various technical cooperation agencies such as GIZ and UNDP within the framework of different institutional reform implementation projects.
