Raluca Diana Sambra

I am part of the R&D team, responsible for developing the intelligence of a range of sizing products based on 3D sensors. This collaboration began in 2014 when I joined Postea Inc., an American startup specializing in sizing systems for postal services and logistics companies. Since 2017, I have continued to work within the same team from France as a freelancer. In 2020, Postea Inc. was acquired by Rice Lake Weighing Systems, a world leader in industrial weighing solutions.

My responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Design and development of innovative computer vision techniques for metrology, from feasibility study to certified product

• Performance analysis and optimization of existing products

• Presentations and demos to investors and key clients

• Technological and scientific watch

• Evaluation of new 3D sensors and study of their potential for the company

• Design and development of stereovision algorithms for metrology

• Design and realization of product prototypes

• Exchange with clients to better meet their needs and use cases.

• Barcode localization

• Automatic product classification by color

Writing of:

• Popular science articles

• Project documentation

At Telecom SudParis, I worked as a research and development engineer. I also completed my PhD there on a project in collaboration with Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs. My responsibilities included:

• Designing and developing innovative techniques for recognizing and annotating visual objects for search engines

• Designing and implementing an interactive image segmentation tool

• Developing a web platform that integrates the solutions provided

• Testing, analyzing, and validating the performance of the different methods proposed

• Presenting and publishing scientific articles

• Teaching and supervising master's students and interns
