Betclic, a major player in online betting, offers sports betting, poker, casino, and horse racing betting services.

The Turf team focuses on the development and improvement of products related to horse racing betting.

As part of my assignment, I joined the Turf team with the main objective of improving the software architecture and designing a new feature for Jockey recommendations.

Team Structure:

• Agile Methodology (Scrum), 2-week sprints, Scrum ceremonies (Daily, Planning, Retro)

• Team of 8 people (1 Manager, 5 Developers, 1 QA, 2 POs)

As a .NET developer, my responsibilities included:

• Backend Development:

o Creation and evolution of REST APIs in C#/.NET Core

o Implementation of a new feature involving several microservices. (Early refund for non-starters)

o Problem-solving for idempotency and concurrent execution in a distributed system.

o Deployment in dev/staging/prod and bug fixes.

o Addition of unit tests, integration tests, code reviews, etc...

• Architecture and Design:

o Analysis and advice regarding hexagonal/Onion architecture

o Study and DATA design of a new feature for jockey recommendations.

As part of my permanent contract with FORTIL, I joined the development team and participated in the development of the DiaginBox field application.

Agile Scrum Methodology, team of 6 people (4 devs, 1 scrum master, 1 PO)

As a .NET & Flutter developer, my responsibilities included:

· .NET backend development (C# REST API)

· Cross-platform development (Android & Web) with Flutter and unit tests.

· Design & development of offline/online synchronization

· Code reviews performed

· Critical merge and deployment

· Training, monitoring, prevention, and correction of application vulnerabilities
