Although Mulhouse is not at all my area, I accepted the mission.

Company building water treatment plants.

I started in this company in 2000 as an office automation trainer for Microsoft Office products with VBA Excel training.

Little by little, they entrusted me with increasingly complex developments around VBA Excel.

The most significant tool was the development of a price list model allowing for very detailed quotes for water and sludge treatment plants. This price list had to be constantly adapted based on the specific parameters of the project and the data entered, to only present the options strictly necessary for the station. The data from this price list was then exported to be integrated into their ERP.

I still maintain this price list model as well as about ten other applications developed with VBA Excel.

I have been working for this company since 1998, for which I have developed tools on both Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access. I also regularly train its employees on Microsoft Office tools.

In 2007, I developed an Access application for contact management (booksellers, authors, press relations, etc.) for the Press department of Editions du Seuil. This application allows users to produce specific mailing lists based on a multitude of criteria associated with the books to be presented. This application is now used by the press departments of 6 publishing houses in the group. Due to the increase in demand and the number of users, the database had to be migrated to SQL Server and the Access client was adapted.

I also developed an Access application for the commercial management of the foreign rights department, which is still in operation.

On the Excel side, I prepared a tool for quoting the manufacturing of a book. To carry out this development, which was rather simple on the VBA side, it was necessary to integrate business expertise to prepare the spreadsheets necessary for establishing the quote, knowing that each supplier used different calculation methods. Finally, this tool, which was supposed to be temporary in 2006, is still in use and no system has managed to replace it.
