Paul Brule

At Stéphane Maupin's firm, I worked on projects covering a particularly wide spectrum, from object design to large-scale urban planning. This diversity allowed me to approach architecture as a cross-disciplinary field, where each project is an opportunity to build a narrative, a strategy, and a coherent spatial response rather than just a form.

I was involved in the various design stages, from initial research to project development, producing plans, digital models, representations, and presentation documents. This experience taught me to articulate a strong architectural vision with the very concrete constraints of the commission, the schedule, and teamwork. It also strengthened my ability to quickly develop concepts, produce convincing visuals, and tackle very diverse subjects with rigor and autonomy.

In parallel with my agency experiences, I developed an independent activity combining competitions, design, and architectural design missions. This practice allowed me to tackle very diverse issues, from the renovation of a single-family house in Normandy to architectural, landscape, and design competitions.

I participated in the Lyon Shoah Memorial competition, the Marie Claire Maison x Cinna design competition, the Buildner international competition, House of the Future, and the development of a research project for the Villa Medici. Each of these exercises led me to develop a specific response to a context, a program, and a societal issue, while deepening my ability to quickly produce concepts, representations, and project narratives.

Working independently has led me to master the entire design process: program analysis, concept development, drawing, modeling, image production, layout, communication with partners, and organization of the different work phases. This autonomy now complements my agency experience and fuels a practice where the quality of reflection is inseparable from the quality of its representation.

At Charles-Victor Viard's firm in Marseille, I mainly worked on renovation and rehabilitation projects for individual houses.

This experience confronted me with very concrete architecture, closely aligned with client expectations, regulatory constraints, and site realities. I participated in the development of studies, the production of files (Building permits and prior declarations), and the monitoring of different project phases, paying particular attention to the coherence between architectural intentions and their feasibility. This immersion in the daily practice of project management consolidated my understanding of the architect's responsibilities and was an essential extension of my HMONP training.
