Approximately 5 years ago, a project was initiated to completely rebuild the entire website. Initially, the goal was to incorporate the same functionality and migrate the entire database. From a technical standpoint, I outlined the desirable situation, and from a functional perspective, the client did the same. It became clear that the site could also be significantly improved in terms of user-friendliness. Ultimately, the following was achieved:
- A multilingual, SEO-optimized platform was realized.
- All data was migrated to a completely new database format.
- The search engine is based on Elasticsearch for speed and faceted search.
- All outgoing job feeds were retained, with the generation process improved for less server load.
- An API for integrating external parties was added.
- All incoming job feeds were retained, with an importer featuring clear logging added for improved feedback to external partners.
- A scaled zero-downtime deployment server structure was set up. New servers can be scaled up as needed.
After going live, necessary changes were implemented based on usage and feedback from hotels (and their priorities), and database queries were optimized and cache efficiency was increased.FutureIn addition to standard tracking, statistics on job posting actions are also recorded. More than ever, they needed further automation of their invoicing process. A workable solution already existed. Together, we upgraded their existing solution to be compatible with Laravel 10 (and soon upgrading to 11) and automated the invoicing process for usage-based billing and monthly fees, while retaining the required checkpoints for their finance department. By also adding an integration with Exact Online that can work for / switch between the PXS and Teletech entities, the expected savings in manual labor amount to up to 2 days.As usual, we continue to maintain the system and will look into automated data import to further eliminate the need for manual work in the near future.
