Pam Haertel

Hi, I'm Pam – a designer and illustrator with over 20 years of experience, especially in packaging design, branding, and book cover design.

I develop design concepts with a feel for details.

I regularly collaborate with agencies – in Germany and internationally – and have worked on projects for Beiersdorf, Henkel, Bahlsen, Rewe, Edeka, and Imperial Tobacco, among others. I flexibly support teams in brand development, relaunches, packaging lines, or pitches – depending on where creative reinforcement is needed.

What makes me unique? A mix of conceptual thinking, design experience, and an eye for the essential. Many of my designs are partly created by hand – with brush, pen, or marker – which gives my work a personal, lively touch. I like design that is tangible. And brands that show attitude.

In addition to commissioned work, I work on my own illustration projects and limited art prints.

I am uncomplicated, reliable, and enjoy working on an equal footing – whether as freelance support in an agency team, for individual projects, or for long-term collaborations.

At Mutter, I worked as a Senior Designer for clients including Gruner + Jahr, Reemtsma, Hilcona, etc.

At Brandship, I was the first designer in the area of packaging and branding. The agency was newly founded at the time. Consequently, I was later solely responsible for the conception and implementation of various projects. Including for clients such as Bahlsen, Schöller, Beiersdorf, etc.

I had a wonderful time at Brandship and learned a lot.
