Olivier Morice

I am currently a doctoral student specializing in Venetian-Byzantine iconography (11th-12th centuries).

On a personal level, I have mastered the scientific methodology related to the Humanities. I possess writing skills and the ability to reflect on the issues raised by art and its context of creation. I have acquired extensive knowledge during my university years, study trips, and research stays in Europe and beyond.

As a service provider, I act as an expert for appraisal missions, conferences, and study days on artistic topics. I am also capable of carrying out writing tasks for exhibition catalogs or artwork descriptions for museum institutions. I also have experience as a writer for thematic exhibitions.

My most recent engagements, for example, aimed to present the work of Baroque painter Artemisia Gentileschi through a proto-feminist reading of her work. I conducted historical research on her life, linked it to a reinterpretation of certain paintings, and presented it to an uninformed audience to help them understand the complexity of the social message conveyed.

My writing skills range from the most academic style, highly appreciated by scientific journals for which I write, to a more literary and general public register. This latter register is also utilized in the digital magazine I personally created: Ibidem.
