I spent 12 years in the finance departments of large corporations, in management control, FP&A, and consolidation, and I ended up developing a small obsession: eliminating the manual work that wastes so much time for finance teams. End-of-month closings that drag on, Excel files that are filled out by hand every month, reporting that is constantly rebuilt... these are exactly the things I love to dismantle.

Specifically, I design tools that run almost by themselves: VBA macros, Power Query, dashboards, so that your closings, budgets, and reports are produced quickly and without errors. And speed isn't everything: I integrate automatic consistency checks at every stage, because in finance, incorrect data that goes unnoticed means a decision that goes in the wrong direction. It's better for the file to detect the anomaly itself before it spreads.

With my previous employers, this resulted in things like a reporting tool that reduced production time by a factor of 10, 35 performance presentations generated in an hour and a half where it used to take a full day, or a redesign of the consolidation process that cut closing times by 40%.

What sets me apart from a pure Excel developer is that I understand the finance behind your files. Before automating anything, I first seek to understand the real need: what you really want to monitor, what decisions are based on this data, what deserves to be automated, and what is no longer useful. Only then do I look at how it's structured, because a well-thought-out process upstream is what makes automation truly sustainable rather than just another workaround.
