Obianuju Onwuzulike

Uju Onwuzulike is an internationally recognized systems thinking advisor whose work focuses on helping global leaders, CEOs, and policymakers address complex systemic challenges and drive sustainable transformation. His approach integrates systems thinking with strategic management to strengthen decision-making, alignment, and execution across organizations and institutions.

Uju is the creator of the world’s first Systems Leadership Index™, a diagnostic framework designed to assess the readiness and capacity of CEOs, senior executives, and policymakers to lead effectively in complex, interconnected environments. The Index provides a rigorous, systems-based lens for evaluating leadership capability, strategic coherence, and execution readiness at the highest levels of responsibility.

He is the founder and CEO of Valcrest Advisory OÜ (a systems thinking and strategy firm based in Estonia), as well as the founder and CEO of Mentoring Consult Ltd, a firm dedicated to addressing systemic challenges through systems thinking. He was the first African to teach systems thinking on a warship (NNS Aradu) in 2012.

Trained and mentored by the late Steve Haines, founder of the Haines Centre for Strategic Management (California, USA), Uju served as the Centre’s Global Partner for Africa. In 2010, he became the first West African to attain Gold Mastery status in Strategic Management and Systems Thinking. Earlier, in 2007, he became the first African trained as an Optimal Thinking Assessment Facilitator by the World Academy of Personal Development (USA). These experiences reflect nearly two decades of applied work in building leadership and organizational capacity across Africa.

Uju is a celebrated faculty member at Rome Business School as well as Docenti Global Business School where he teaches sustainable innovation, business strategy and strategic management to executive MBA students.
