- Nikon Film Festival 2022"Poor Pigeons"FILM AND AVJanuary 2023 - Today (3 years and 4 months)Paris, France"Oizo, Gato, Dodo"For the 13th edition of the Nikon Film Festival, I had the opportunity to experiment with real-time virtual production, allowing me to create a 3D animated film using various techniques in a very short production time and highlighting a workflow consisting almost entirely of free and open-source software.It had been my desire for a long time to take on this challenge, not only to push the limits of my own skills but also to demonstrate the creative possibilities that tools made freely available to artists can offer.For this film, I used, for the very first time in a fictional project, the Perception Neuron 32(V2) motion capture solution, the Unreal Engine(5) real-time 3D rendering engine, the RealityCapture software, the MeshToMetahuman plugin by Epic Games, and the Faceware Studio software for a few days in its trial version. Not to mention Blender3D, which has become my reliable 3D tool for over 5 years now.Having had to finalize the post-production in extremis before the closing of entries to the festival, the film represents for me more of an experimental project than a finished product, but I hope it will still demonstrate the narrative possibilities offered by this type of creative process that I will undoubtedly develop further in the future.The film is called "Poor Pigeons" and is currently visible on the Nikon Film Festival website.https://www.festivalnikon.fr/video/2022/2413
