Responsibilities

Administration of SQL Server Always On, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB in a critical production environment.

Monitoring and supervision of environments using native tools and custom scripts.

PostgreSQL: user and permission management, basic backups/restorations, SQL deployments, project support, automation with Ansible.

MongoDB: basic monitoring, user and role management.

SQL performance optimization (indexing, queries, resources).

Deployment of T-SQL and YAML scripts for automating recurring tasks.

- SQL Server Performance Optimization in Azure SQL Database

Improving overall performance through TempDB optimization, slow query analysis, creation of appropriate indexes, and concurrency tuning.

- Advanced SQL Memory Management

Proactive monitoring of allocated memory via DMVs and adjustment of memory parameters to reduce pressure and ensure smooth execution in the Azure PaaS environment.

- Transaction and Lock Management

Diagnosing contention through locks, blocking, and deadlocks, with optimization of isolation levels to improve database availability and scalability.

Advanced Performance Tuning

Utilizing Query Store, Extended Events, and DBCC MEMORYSTATUS to identify inefficient query plans and optimize resource usage in Azure SQL.

- Storage and File Management in Azure

Analysis of automatic database growth, efficient log file management, and use of Premium Storage (Azure SSD) to ensure minimal latency.

- Security and High Availability in Cloud Environment

Analysis of Availability Groups (in Azure SQL Managed Instance), configuration of automated backups, and deployment of alerts for page corruption (DBCC CHECKDB + alerting via Azure Monitor).
