As an only UI Developer in the team, I am responsible for web-based tools that are used to program and set up promotions that users see when they open mobile Spotify app. It uses sophisticated ML-based targeting and a whole bunch of tools and pipelines to get the most out of each interaction. When started contract at Spotify, I worked at another part of the organisation, and was involved in creating a new internal application that provides all the tools needed for customer support agents to help users. My role was to drive integration of React's best practices into the project and share the knowledge of building complex UIs for the web with the development team.
- DICE (EA Digital Illusions CE AB)Front End Engineering ConsultantTECHJune 2017 - October 2018 (1 year and 4 months)Uppsala, SwedenBeen a part of DICE game development team and worked as a UI Developer on Battlefield 1, Battlefield 4 and Battlefield V. Proudly listed in credits of Battlefield 1 starting from Road to Russia DLC and in release credits of Battlefield V. Battlefield series has a unique native UI engine that can be programmed using JavaScript and React, while still being rendered in actual game engine (Frostbite). I took a part in developing many components of the UI: from server browser to in-game menus; from recommendation cards to loading screen; from marketing promotions to telemetry and statistics. Took a part in preparing many releases of UI code updates for BF1 and BF4 and in the development process of Battlefield V starting from the early days of the project. TypeScript and MobX was at the core of React stack, together with many internal tools and libraries. Battlefield runs on PC, Xbox and PS4, so I had a chance to get game development experience on consoles also: debugging native clients, implementing multi-platform features and fixing complex platform-related bugs.
