About Nick

Nick has forged a rich and varied career in strategy and turnaround leadership and consultancy. Graduating with a Masters in Civil Engineering from Imperial College, Nick started his career as a construction engineer. He then went on to build his foundation in strategy and turnaround at Bain & Company for a number of years before joining Element Six, part of the De Beers and Anglo American groups to turnaround a $50M and then $100M P&L. In 2013, Nick set up Adlam Associates to become an independent advisor in strategy and turnaround and later built consulting firm, The Barton Partnership. Nick has also held multiple non-executive roles and been involved in a number of entrepreneurial opportunities along the way.

Nick has previously worked in International Education for the last 5 years supporting INTO University partnership and covering a variety of roles including Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Recruitment officer and most recently Chief Commercial Officer. Most recently Nick has led efforts to joint-venture with partner institutions to deliver foundation and University degree propositions in locations including Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Malaysia.

Nick’s other passion is charitable work. Nick dedicates a significant portion of his time to offer pro-bono support to charities (40 and counting). In addition he is passionate about supporting young people to explore the great outdoors and set up The RDC Foundation to support others to enjoy the outdoors as he has.

Nick lives with his family and pet Labrador in Hampshire (UK) where he also serves as a Magistrate in the judiciary.
