Clients and Projects Delivered:

- Worked closely with colleagues from other application teams to set up the new platform under VMWare.

- Collaborated with day 2 teams for a smooth transition and handover of this platform to the support team.

- Managed the deployment of Windows WSUS updates.

- Produced and updated comprehensive documentation on server configurations and operations.

- Implemented a new NetBackup platform for the new infrastructure.

- Deployed a new hybrid backup solution Veeam OnPrem/AWS and integrated on-premises storage with Amazon S3.

- Upgraded Citrix NetScaler: Successfully upgraded from version 11.1 to version 13.1.

- Upgraded Citrix XenApp: Upgraded from version 6.5 to version 7.x, ensuring compliance with support requirements and integrating new technologies.

- Implemented Citrix VDI: Deployed a new VDI solution, migrating users from VMware Horizon to this new platform to optimize costs and consolidate technologies.

- Managed Nutanix Cluster: Configured and managed a Nutanix cluster across two sites.

- Infrastructure Upgrade: Upgraded VMware ESXi from version 6.5 to 7.3. This included deploying new CISCO hardware.

- Veeam Hardware Evergreen.

- Operating System Upgrades:

Promoted to Senior Technical Advisor (L4) within the operational team, responsible for virtualization, storage, and backup technologies. This role allowed me to lead a team of 12 individuals dedicated to virtualization technologies to assist our internal and external clients.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Architectural advice on new or current client configurations, including capacity planning, virtual machine configurations, storage provisioning, roadmaps, and specifications.

- Advise and assist specialists and business partners in positioning, planning, developing, executing, and monitoring innovative technologies for projects, initiatives, and strategic mandates under your responsibility.

- Support strategic projects and initiatives of your unit by developing and updating policies, standards, architectural objectives, and supporting foundations, or technological solutions, considering data, application, and infrastructure aspects.

- Design, deploy, and integrate VMware solutions for new clients, including backup and storage technologies.

- Review and manage how the monitoring solution is deployed and address any gaps identified. This is done by working with many other teams, including network and IT teams.

- Hardware acquisitions, support renewals, and license acquisitions.

- Played a major role in deploying the OpenShift solution within the internal network.

- Migrated HomeTrust Bank from VMware on IBM cloud to VMware on Azure within the given deadlines.

- Planning and management of updates and upgrades of our customers' environments in collaboration with multiple server and application teams.

- Support integration of virtual, physical servers, and other devices for new clients. High-level investigations and troubleshooting on clients' platforms.

- Integration, support, and optimization of monitoring and surveillance solutions used in our environment and reduction in incident numbers logged by optimizing or changing thresholds.

- Licensing management and support renewals. Auditing and health reporting using scripts. I have integrated several scripting reports that detail the state of the environments where we could proactively act on issues before they occur.

- Meeting, Alignment, and achievement with our department objectives set by management following the company vision and goals.

- I took leadership in planning and installing a LAB environment for our server administrators running on a VMware virtualization platform under a CISCO Hardware environment. This environment helped my peers progress on tests and troubleshooting exercises before implementing them at the client side.
