Misael Caloz

I work as a clinical medical physicist at HUG, specializing in radiotherapy. My responsibilities include dose calculation, quality assurance, equipment calibration, and optimization of treatment protocols. I ensure compliance with international safety standards and support clinical teams in the integration of advanced technologies.

Holding a PhD in quantum physics, I contribute to applied research in radiation therapy, radiation transport modeling, and data-driven system optimization. I also collaborate on clinical trials involving novel imaging or treatment techniques, providing physical modeling and dosimetric expertise.

My role bridges clinical operations and scientific innovation, ensuring precision, safety, and efficiency in radiation-based medical procedures.

Research and development project in semiconductor physics, through the Gebert Rüf Stiftung grant, that supports a researcher position in the Advanced Semiconductors for Photonics and Electronics Laboratory (LASPE) in the EPFL Institute of Physics. The project focuses on the technical development of gallium nitride (GaN)-based gas sensors with an emphasis on cleanroom fabrication and electrical characterization. This project is conducted between EPFL and Hexisense SA, an EPFL spin-off commercializing the underlying technology.
