I was mainly dedicated to corrective maintenance and the creation of evolutions around the Anti-Money Laundering application, working closely with Caixabank and BPI bank.

During the almost 20 years I worked at the company, I highlight three well-differentiated periods:

-First period: Based in Brazil, I started by developing the bank card payment system in that country, using C and COBOL. Later, back at the office, I worked in the retail area, more involved with the development of POS software and the creation of universal software to work with fiscal devices from different countries.

-Second period: In the Teradata area, I created practically all the staging load scripts intended to feed the management dashboard, as well as data transformation using ETL tools.

-Third period: Here the work focused mainly on the IBM/AIX mainframe. I was the lead programmer in the new Base Software team for a couple of years, until more people joined later. In this period, I will highlight the adaptation of the ERP to UTF-8 to represent all languages used in the different branches, and allow work with non-Western languages, such as Chinese or Russian. I automated the migration of RM/COBOL to Microfocus COBOL of the application, collaborated closely with the Systems department to improve mainframe performance, and was also involved in the migration to Oracle. Other functions performed were consulting and programming support for the COBOL department, along with collaboration in the development of a source versioning software adapted to the particularities of the COBOL Development department's work method, optimization of batch and cron processes, along with handling Enterprise Server to implement connectivity with other systems and middleware layer implementation. Other activities were related to EDIFACT, XML schemas, encryption, transliteration of Semitic languages, etc.

• I worked in the COBOL Development area, mainly in Billing, using VT220 terminals on Unix.
