    Task:
The client's IT infrastructure had grown significantly without addressing technical debt. This led to considerable stability issues that affected application operations. The goal was to migrate the applications to the cloud to make them highly available and avoid future infrastructure problems. Additionally, the existing infrastructure was to be stabilized, and the team prepared for cloud operations.

    Solution:
    • I created and presented Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) to align the company's architects on a common solution and establish best practices. The defined standards were then transferred by the Product Owners to the individual development teams.
    • To prepare for the migration, I built reusable pipelines and trained the DevOps team members in their use.
    • To stabilize the existing infrastructure, I developed technical solutions and implemented them together with the IT team. I was actively involved in incident management and conducted post-mortems to share findings with colleagues and foster a sense of responsibility for preventive measures.
    • Additionally, I introduced agile working methods in the DevOps team to promote autonomous work and optimize process flow.

    Result:
    • The stability of the existing infrastructure was significantly improved, reducing the number of incidents and enabling faster resolution of new incidents.
    • Software developers were able to successfully adapt their applications to the requirements of the cloud infrastructure.
    • The migration of applications proceeded smoothly without significant issues.
    • The workflow within the DevOps team improved noticeably, leading to a reduction in "Work in Progress." Communication between teams was also optimized, making collaboration more efficient.
