To model the "Cavitation Peening" effect, Insa Lyon is studying a 200 bar cavitating jet in a sealed enclosure.
The objective: Develop a new surface treatment similar to shot peening through the implosion of vacuum bubbles.
But?:
• How to predict the work hardening experienced based on the surface position?
• How to move the surface to be treated around the cavitating jet?
