About Michael

I am an engineer in computer science and applied mathematics (Ensimag), as well as a PhD in Deep learning (Sorbonne University). I have over 6 years of experience in data science, and I have worked with data from a wide variety of sources (texts, images, time series, tabular data, etc.). I also have experience with a wide variety of algorithms and technologies related to data science. With a strong background in mathematics and computer science, I can work on the theoretical/exploratory/research part of a project as well as its implementation. I also offer training, ranging from popularization to theoretical deepening.

My specialties are:
- Image: classification, detection/tracking, automatic generation (via GAN)
- Text: classification, semantic recommendation, automatic generation
- Time series: classification, temporal prediction, denoising
- Tabular data: classification, regression, explainability

In my work, I value:
- understanding the business. My experience has shown me that applying data science methodologies without a deep understanding of the data being manipulated leads to poorer results
- pedagogy. Whether it's a PoC, an analysis, or a turnkey tool, I believe that a good understanding of my work and the technology used is an integral part of the deliverable
- challenge. I particularly enjoy complex problems that can challenge my skills in general

I remain at your disposal.

Walnut Algorithms is a technology firm focused on applying the latest advances in data science and machine learning research to the financial markets. We are a team of passionate data scientists developing algorithms to drive the technological disruption brought by the advent of artificial intelligence in finance. We combine advanced machine learning techniques with financial expertise to generate medium frequency pure alpha strategies. We develop sophisticated trading models able to scale over numerous assets globally. The strategies are designed to spot intraday patterns forming in the financial markets with high levels of confidence. The large amounts of intraday data points available allow us to train robust machine learning models and avoid overfitting. Website: www.walnutalgorithms.com
