We first migrated the infrastructure from Azure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and implemented a virtual machine (VM) manager. This manager was essential for maintaining a stable WebSocket connection between the client and the VM in the cloud.Faced with certain significant events, we recognized shortcomings and developed a dedicated service for VM orchestration. This orchestrator allowed for on-demand VM creation, a strong point of Furioos that distinguished it from traditional solutions requiring long-term reservations and incurring high costs.The integration of the orchestrator and the manager made these two services independent and scalable. We thus introduced a VM reservation feature, offering clients the ability to choose the date, time, and number of VMs according to their needs, providing flexibility and customization.We also noticed a lack of VMs with integrated graphics cards among providers. To meet this need, we added a feature allowing users to integrate their own machine into the Furioos ecosystem. This solution not only reduced costs but also marked a significant technical advancement.Despite these successes, Unity decided to shut down the Furioos project last year. Following this decision, I joined Unity's AI division as Lead Developer. In this role, I lead the development of several core projects for the company's AI initiatives. This approach offered a new dimension of accessibility, allowing users to run intensive 3D applications without the need for powerful hardware.I joined the team during the first year of the project and was confronted with major technological challenges, particularly managing the simultaneous streaming of multiple applications from the cloud. It was about creating an infrastructure capable of supporting a significant load while maintaining low latency to ensure a fluid user experience. We worked on innovative solutions to optimize video compression, improve network response, and ensure the security of user data, while exploring the latest advancements in cloud computing and streaming.Success and acquisition by UnityThe project quickly achieved great success, attracting the attention of industry giants like Unreal Engine and Unity.
