Matteo Paparella

Nice to meet you, I’m Matteo Paparella, a Data Engineering and Marketing Freelance with solid experience in the design, implementation, and governance of complex data solutions.

I primarily work within Azure Cloud and Databricks ecosystems, focusing on the design of scalable data architectures, the development of data ingestion and transformation pipelines, and the coordination of data-related projects. Throughout my experience, I have collaborated closely with technical teams and business stakeholders, contributing to architectural decisions and ensuring alignment between data platforms and business objectives.

I have gained significant experience in data governance, having actively contributed to the design and implementation of data governance frameworks based on Azure Purview and Informatica for two clients in the Energy & Utilities sector. My work in this area included data cataloging, data lineage, data quality management, compliance, and the definition of data ownership and governance processes.

From a technical perspective, Python is my primary programming language, which I use extensively for automation development, system integrations, and working with REST APIs. I also have foundational experience with Java and Apache Spark, gained during a three-month project that allowed me to work with distributed data processing pipelines and big data workflows.

In parallel with my technical activities, I collaborate as an external consultant for a services company, where I cover a cross-functional role spanning IT and Marketing. In this context, I support both technological initiatives and digital/marketing activities, contributing to data-driven decision making and the overall digital strategy.

My approach is strongly focused on data quality, robust architecture, and the delivery of tangible business value, with particular attention to bridging the gap between technical teams and decision makers.
