About Mathieu

Passionate about computing from a young age, I learned Linux and C/C++ on my own while studying electrical engineering. I continued my learning in an apprenticeship engineering school in electronics and industrial computing. I worked on very diverse projects that included power electronics, analog and digital electronic board design, embedded programming on µC, DSP & FPGA, as well as control design using Matlab/Simulink.

My preferred field remains embedded software development in C, C++ on µC with or without an OS, with skills in Python and Qt for the PC side. I also participate in team-based cybersecurity competitions where I specialize in reverse engineering, which makes me particularly comfortable with architectures and assembly language (x86, ARM, etc.). My solid knowledge in electrical and electronics engineering is often useful for understanding the technical environments in which I work.

As I tinker a lot, I am fortunate to have a large office with an electronics space that includes a lab power supply, measurement equipment, hot air and reflow soldering stations for rapid prototyping, a dedicated software development space, and finally, a mechanical space with 3D printing. All of this can be useful to you if you are looking for someone on a fixed-price or remote work basis.

I have always had good relationships with the teams I've been a part of, so don't hesitate to contact me to work together!

    ENERGY AND UTILITIES
    September 2008 - September 2011 (3 years)
    Grenoble, France
    — Programming of DSP (C Language) and FPGA (VHDL) for the control of an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC converters. Sequencing and control were handled by two DSPs and command distribution by the FPGA.

    — Development of voltage, current, and active, reactive, and apparent power controls for a DC/AC converter using Matlab/Simulink. The goal was to synchronize with the electrical grid to deliver a given active and reactive power to test uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) at full power.

    — Testing of sequences and controls in HIL (simulation with Matlab/Simulink) and in real-time on a 60KVA test bench.

    — Design of an analog electronic board for measurement adaptation.

Programming of a new hydroelectric dam turbine regulator (C language). The objective was to optimize the turbine's efficiency by adjusting its speed based on hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical parameters. This was the first project using an asynchronous generator (250MW).

Programming (in C) and testing of an oleohydraulic station.

Testing of the regulator and the oleohydraulic station in hardware-in-the-loop (HIL). Tests included sequencing and control (PID loops).
