- AthemRedesign of a brand identity, and adaptation of print and web materialsARTS AND CRAFTSMay 2018 - March 2020 (1 year and 10 months)DescriptionBecause Athem's business is staging, we designed a brand identity that evokes the scenography profession, which is already a staging in itself. To express the rigorous and creative spirit of the workshop, we opted for an embodied and unproclaimed shift. As if suspended by a puppeteer's strings, the letters of the brand identity create a play in space, and offer a sense of movement reminiscent of the Atelier's creations' animation. Lightened by certain fragments, these characters also have something of the Chinese shadow, of light projection – a stylized echo of video mapping.Rising on an invisible staff, the ensemble plays a unique graphic music. Just like a musical score, this identity is a tool for creation but also for precision and rigor.THE BOOKATHEM operates in various fields. For several years, however, the workshop has made a name for itself in the cultural sector. For its book, the workshop expressed the desire to project this image by using its codes. Design a book as an object, a true art book. This is what the studio was asked to do.120 pages / 2000 copiesTYPOGRAPHYThe ATHEM logo is derived from a typeface that our studio created for the occasion. Called Athem Sans, this typeface comes in three versions of identical weight.Athem Sans Regular is a condensed Sans Serif typeface.It exists only in uppercase, as do its sisters: Athem Sans Regular Cut and Athem Sans Regular Alternate. It is the basic version of this typeface, without variations in height or cuts.Athem Sans Regular Alternate is designed around the same structure as its sisters.Its peculiarity lies in the offset of the letters that make up the Athem logo.Indeed, the letters A, T, H, E, M have retained their offsets and cuts visible in the logo. The rest of the alphabet is placed vertically on the line of H and M.Accented glyphs containing one or more modified characters undergo the same visual transformation as their parents.The idea conveyed by this variant of the typeface is as follows: every word written with this typeface will be thus shaken up, revisited by ATHEM.A CAPTIVATING WEBSITEAdministrable, this site takes the visitor into the world of the workshop. Between sensations and technical originality, the user is invited to feel a positioning, the state of mind of ATHEM.The site plays throughout its pages with vertical displacement. Like a musical score, the user reads the projects scrolling on a staff.
