About Marina
My journey into photography began in Madrid, where I first picked up a camera and discovered an interest in observing people and the stories around me. Although photography was initially a creative outlet, it gradually became a way of understanding the world and connecting with others.
After moving to Scotland, photography took on a new role in my life. During the first COVID-19 lockdown, I returned to the medium with a renewed sense of purpose, using it as a way to explore my surroundings and develop my creative voice. What started as a personal project soon evolved into a professional practice.
Since then, I have worked across a range of photographic disciplines, including events, portraiture, documentary, and fashion photography. My work is driven by an interest in people, identity, and visual storytelling. Whether documenting real-life experiences or creating carefully constructed editorial images, I aim to create photographs that feel authentic, engaging, and emotionally resonant.
I completed an HND in Photography before graduating with a BA (Hons) in Professional Photography from Edinburgh College. Throughout my studies, I developed projects exploring themes such as community, belonging, mythology, fashion, and cultural identity, while also expanding into videography and emerging technologies such as AI-assisted image creation.
Today, my practice combines photography, video, and creative experimentation. I continue to work with brands, organisations, and individuals while developing personal projects that explore the relationship between reality, imagination, and human experience.
