Maria Julia Marchini

I am an independent photographer, specializing in documentary reportage and artistic portraiture, between commissioned work and personal projects. I work with companies, artisans, creators, and cultural institutions to highlight their expertise, their teams, and their stories through authentic and sensitive images.

I also carry out reports for festivals, private or public events (concerts, weddings, demonstrations), as well as studio or lifestyle shoots with individuals and professionals.

In parallel, I am developing artistic work around intimacy, memory, and cultural belonging – themes fueled by my Italian-Brazilian identity and my experience as an expatriate. I have exhibited several series (Saudade, Le cœur sur la main, Illusions retrouvées), self-published a book (Journal d’un temps étrange), and directed a short film (Mon chez moi). My current project, @heroinesdetouslesjours, documents women's fight against violence.

I work in French, Portuguese, and English, and am available in Paris, Lyon, Montreuil, and beyond.

As a photographer at Primavista, I independently conducted photo sessions in maternity wards: direct contact with families, adaptation to a sensitive environment, complete management of production and client follow-up.

Assisted photographer Lorenzo Maccotta on several press reports in Italy, notably for Fortune Magazine and La Gazzetta dello Sport. I participated in shoot logistics, equipment management, lighting adjustments, and file organization, immersed in a demanding editorial production workflow.
